Elements of Version dimension can be customized, as outlined in the Version Dimension article.
In the context of currency conversion, an additional version can be used to compare results of currency conversions with different exchange rates.
Example:
Version Actual contains actual figures and shows the conversion using actual exchange rates. This conversion should be compared with a currency conversion at the exchange rates used for the Budget version.
Create a new version called Actual at Budget Rates and copy the actual figures into this version. Enter or copy the budget exchange rates into the Actual at Budget Rates version in the Exchange Rates cube. The figures of Actual and Actual at Budget Rates versions in the target currency can be shown in a report. An additional column showing the variance between the two versions can be used to understand the impact of the exchange rates on the converted amount.
