Semi-Additive Measures (Cash Flow Cube)

Return to Cash Flow Model Overview.

The Cash Flow cube is set up to handle semi-additive measures. The semi-additive behavior can be declared for elements of the CF Account dimension and will affect the aggregation along the Month dimension. This can be useful if, in addition to amounts stored in regular accounts, non-additive statistical figures (e.g. Cash funds at the or at the end beginning of period) are also added to the CF Account dimension and thus stored in the Cash Flow cube. The semi-additive behavior can be set to Average of children, First child, or Last child (see related article Using Semi-Additive Measures).

For some elements in the Month dimension, exceptions from aggregation behavior have been defined as follows:

Month element

Aggregation inclusion

2015-~, 2016-~, 2017-~, etc.

Data Total: the value will be added to the first, last, or average value of the regular month elements.

2015-00, 2016-00, 2017-00, etc.

Include in First/Last: First child aggregation will be e.g. 2016-00 + 2016-01.
First/Last: Last child aggregation will be e.g. 2016-00 + 2016-12.

2015-13, 2015-14, 2015-15, 2015-16, 2016-13, 2015-14, etc.

Remove from First/Last: Last child aggregation will be e.g. 2016-12 but not 2016-13, 2016-14, 2016-15 or 2016-16.
