Which cloud infrastructure provider does Jedox Production Cloud use?
Jedox Production Cloud is IaaS independent. It uses an abstraction layer that enables it to run atop any cloud infrastructure provider. At the time of update of this document (July 2017), we are actively using Microsoft Azure. Top
Which hardware options does Jedox Production Cloud use?

What is the available network bandwidth for Jedox Production Cloud, and in which region should I run my setup?
All infrastructure providers have multiples of 10 Gbit/s available at their data centers. This bandwidth is shared with other customers (including Jedox). Each instance also has a physical limitation of a maximum 1 Gbit/s (depending on type). More important than bandwidth itself is the network latency. As a rule of thumb, you should always pick a data center with the least latency to where you will be consuming the service. Top
Can I use my own certificates to encrypt communication between the consumer and Jedox Production Cloud?
Jedox Production Cloud already comes with preconfigured strong certificates. Custom certificates are also available upon request. Top
Can I setup an SFTP connection to transfer files to and from Jedox Production Cloud?
As of December 2016, standard setup includes SFTP access. Custom setup, including the setting up of SFTP access from specific IPs and for specific users, is available upon request. Top
What are your plans for adding data centers in various geographies to support regional performance needs?
We continuously improve our service and extend into new regions provided by our cloud infrastructure providers. Currently, Jedox Production Cloud is available in Europe (Germany Central and France Central), Europe (Amsterdam), UK (South), UK (West), northern europe (Ireland), eastern US (Virginia), central US (Iowa), south-central US (Texas), Western US (California), Asia (Hong Kong), Asia (Singapore), eastern Japan (Tokyo), western Japan (Osaka), Brazil (Sao Paulo state), Australia (New South Wales), and Australia (Victoria). Can the data live in the cloud, on premise, or both?
Yes, yes, and yes. Your data can reside either in the cloud, on premise, or in both locations. Top
Is my data stored securely in Jedox Cloud?
Yes, all data volumes are encrypted using state-of-the-art AES-256 encryption. Each customer has their own key. Keys are safely managed through usage of “vault” infrastructure and hardware security modules (HSM). Top
Does Jedox support a “German Cloud” offering?
How do I manage backup?
Per default, storing data in cold storage will not be done by Jedox. However, as of October 2018, each new setup based on the latest generation of the Jedox Cloud platform includes an additional 512GB of secure, geo redundant storage (warm) space. Once a day, at user specified time, snapshot of the data will be stored on that storage automatically. You can than use cloud console to download this data manually or automatically by utilising SFTP access. Furthermore user can use this storage to create additional snapshots manually. With premium backup, you can have the last 30 days of snapshots and the extent of 3TB of data. Top
Can Jedox Cloud be configured so that end users can only access the service through VPN?
Yes. The Jedox Cloud team can work with an organization’s IT team to set up special access. Please contact your sales representative if you need more information. Top
Can I setup a secure connection between Jedox Production Cloud and my on-premise SAP System?
Standard setup does not include this scenario. However, it is possible to securely connect an external Jedox system running in the Jedox Production Cloud with an on-premise SAP system. Will AD SSO work in Jedox Production Cloud?
Yes, provided there is connectivity to AD DC, AD SSO will work the same way as on-premise. We can help you set it up (subject to consulting fee). Top
How does Jedox Cloud connect to customer data?
Jedox Cloud can connect to customer data at any location, provided that access is granted to its powerful Integrator (ETL) component, i.e. direct access to a cloud service (such as salesforce.com), or that an on-premise system (e.g. SAP ERP system) exists. Usually this is achieved by establishing secure VPN tunnel between Jedox Cloud and an on-premise system.
You can also manually upload data stored in files, such as Excel or CSV files, into Jedox Cloud. Accessing data on an external system may require additional adjustments. Please contact your sales representative if you need more information. Top
How do end users access my Jedox-Cloud-based applications?
Users will access Jedox Cloud over the public internet via an advanced encrypted TLS 1.2-based HTTPS connection. Alternatively, you can use Jedox Excel Add-in to connect from your Windows PC, or Jedox Mobile App to connect from your mobile iOS/Android device.

Can I use Jedox Mobile App to securely connect my Jedox Cloud environment?
Yes, you can use Jedox Mobile App for iOS/Android to connect securely via advanced TLS 1.2/HTTPS connection to your Jedox Cloud environment. Top
Once I sign up for Jedox Cloud, how long will it take before I have access to my system?
Setting up the initial basic environment after all the needed information is collected should not take longer than 1 hour. Depending on the setup type, additional time may need to be calculated. Top
What information do I have to provide for initial setup?
To setup the initial environment, some information is requested when signing up for the service. This information may include contact details of the person(s) in charge of the service on the customer side; organization; region in which service should be available; type/size of the Jedox Cloud service; maintenance window; and so on. How do I migrate my existing application from my on-prem Jedox system to Jedox Production Cloud?
Migrating existing applications is simple and uses the same workflow as for migrating applications on-premises. To begin, it is important to be familiar with the components in a Jedox application, which include databases, reports, and Integrator projects. Each of these can be easily transferred from one Jedox system to another regardless of whether it is on-prem or in the Jedox Production Cloud. Databases can be transported via Database Scripts. Reports can be transported via Bundle Files. Integrator projects can be exported and imported via Web interface. The same approach can be used to migrate data “from dev to test to prod”.
In addition to this, SFTP access allows you to access other user data residing on the filesystem (e.g. SVS scripts, images, etc.) and to copy it back and forth. We can support you in every step in this process. Please see our onboarding service for more details.Top
Can I have multiple environments (such as development, testing, and production) within a single secure Jedox Cloud service?
Yes, you can have as many running environments as you like within a single, secure Jedox Cloud service. Top
What does the URL to access the system look like? Will it be a separate custom URL for each customer implementation?
Every environment within a single Jedox Cloud service has its own unique URL derived from the organization name and specific environment name, e.g. test-bikersbest.cloud.jedox.com. How do I provision my users?
Your subscription to Jedox Production Cloud includes full admin access to Jedox platform. You will be in charge of identity and access management, i.e. you will be able to fully manage users, groups and roles on your own. Which Jedox platform version runs in Jedox Production Cloud?
By default, when you subscribe for Jedox Production Cloud, you get to run the current Jedox platform version available at the time of your order including latest security patches. Jedox will keep infrastructure up to date for you. When updates are available, provided there is no impact on the running system they will be applied transparently for user. Where interventions are needed which have impact on the running systems our team will reach out to you to schedule maintenance slot which fits best needs of your business. Top
Is it possible to run a platform version other than the current one?
I heard there is new platform version. How do I update my Jedox Production Cloud environment?
As soon as updates are made available, our team will start rolling them out globally to all of our customers. Provided you haven’t been contacted by our personal already regarding the update, you Just can create support ticket. Our support team will reach out to schedule an update. You define the time, and we do the update for you! Top
What is your scheduled maintenance frequency? How will you notify us of changes and how much lead-time is provided?
Cloud Maintenance(Release + System Maintenance) will be done on your Cloud Machines on a daily basis at a time chosen by you before on-boarding – 1 hour Cloud Maintenance Window. In most cases, Cloud Maintenance will have limited or no negative impact on the availability and functionality of the Services. If Jedox expects planned Cloud Maintenance to negatively affect the availability or functionality of the Services, Jedox will use commercially reasonable efforts to provide at least seven days advance notice of the Cloud Maintenance. In addition, Jedox may perform emergency unscheduled Cloud Maintenance at any time. If Jedox expects such Emergency Cloud Maintenance to negatively affect the availability or functionality of the Ser-vices, Jedox will use commercially reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of such Cloud Maintenance. Cloud Maintenance notices mentioned above will be provided via the Cloud Console and/or Support Portal. Top
How do you handle the release of enhancements, upgrades and ongoing maintenance?
System Maintenance (done daily in the Cloud Maintenance Window) – system is updated with the last infrastructure + system patches based on the assessment done by Cloud Operations team. Release Maintenance – in the first 4 weeks after a Jedox Release you will be contacted by a Jedox Cloud Engineer to schedule an update to the latest version of the software. This will be done in a scheduled time based on your feedback and with prior assessment to the application through a Change Advisory Board(Jedox internal). Top
