Jedox 3rd Party Access/MDX: Use with Excel 2013/2016


The following steps describe how you can create Pivot Tables in Microsoft Excel 2013/2016 using the Jedox ODBO Provider.

  1. From the Data menu, select Get Data > From Other Sources > From Microsoft Query:
  2. A dialog box prompting you to choose the data source is displayed. Select OLAP Cubes.
  3. Click OK. A dialog box prompting you to create a new data source is displayed.
  4. Give the data source a name and select Jedox ODBO Provider as the OLAP provider.
  5. Click Connect. The Data Link Properties window opens. Select the server address, login information and catalog like in the example below:
  6. Click Test Connection. If the connection is successful, click OK.
  7. On the Create New Data Source window, select the cube containing the data you want and click OK. The data source is now added to the OLAP cubes list.
  8. Click OK. The Import Data window is displayed, allowing you to select how and where you want to see the data in the workbook.
  9. Click OK. Add the login information into the Data Link Properties window.
  10. Test the connection and click OK. The data is now available in the workbook:
