Disaster Recovery – Extended Business Continuity

The Extended Business Continuity service helps ensure business continuity by keeping business apps and workloads running during outages caused by natural or technical events in the Azure Data Center. This service orchestrates replication without intercepting data from the application. With replication, data is stored in the storage with the resilience that it provides. If a failover occurs, new infrastructure is created based on the replicated data. The Extended Business Continuity service replicates the infrastructure from a primary to a secondary location. After the primary location is running again, you can request to fallback to it.

When you onboard to the Cloud services, you can choose a primary datacentre location and a second one for replication and recovery.

Jedox recommends that a Disaster Recovery test is run every 6 months. A disaster recovery test is the examination of each step in a disaster recovery plan, as outlined in your overall business continuity/disaster recovery (BCDR) planning process. The cloud Disaster Recovery can be running independently or as part of your overall BCDR test. A Cloud Operations engineer will contact you once in 6 months to schedule a date/time when the test can be performed. In case of an event in the Azure Data Center, you will be notified by our Cloud Operations engineers that the disaster recovery process has been started.
