SAP Connector Overview

The Jedox SAP Connector can make data in SAP systems easily and directly available for reporting and budgeting in Jedox OLAP. It is an add-on to Jedox Integrator (ETL), which is available at http://www.jedox.com. Jedox SAP Connector enhances Jedox Integrator (ETL) with two new SAP connections (SAP  and SAPHana) and several new extract types. 

To get a quick overview of the functionality of Jedox SAP Connector,  upload the SAP-related ETL sample projects to the ETL Manager. They are part of the Jedox SDK and can be found in directory <Jedox install path>\tomcat\webapps\etlserver\data\samples.

Enabling Jedox SAP Connector

To enable Jedox SAP Connector, you will have to perform the following installation steps:

  1. Install SAP Java Connector
  2. Install of Jedox Integrator Add-On SAP
  3. Install of SAP Transport Packages
Jedox SAP Connector extract types

There are two generic extract types for the extraction of data from SAP Data Dictionary Tables and Remote Function Calls (RFCs). They can be used for any SAP Netweaver-based system (SAP R/3, ERP, CRM, SCM…):

  1. SAPTable Extract
  2. SAPGenericRFC Extract

Specific extract types are available for SAP ERP systems (SAP ERP Content) and SAP Business Warehouse (SAP BW Content). For SAP ERP Systems (or SAP R/3), there are 3 additional extract types. Note: to use these extracts, it is necessary to install the Transport Package for SAP ERP.

  1. SAPERPHierarchy Extract
  2. SAPBalanceSheet Extract
  3. SAPProject Extract

For SAP Business Warehouse systems (SAP BW/BI) there are 4 specific additional extract types. Note: to use these extracts, it is necessary to install the Transport Package for SAP BW.

  1. SAPBIMaster Extract
  2. SAPBIHierarchy Extract
  3. SAPBIDataStore Extract
  4. SAPBICube Extract
